Halloween was fucking lit this year and we’re all probably still in the recovery process, but whether you’re ready or not the mayhem continues on this first Monday of November with four massive new tracks by some of the best the genre has to offer. On your mark, ya better get set…
Quintino- Scorpion (Hardwell Edit)
Hardwell is featured a lot on this site and the reasoning is pretty simple, he’s really fucking good. His originals are some of the most well identified tracks of electronic music but his remixes are nothing to mess with either. This is an electro banger that does a great job of bringing elements from different sub genres and combining them into one massive track. Number 1 on DJ Mag or not, Robbert is still at the top of his game and Scorpion fully supports that statement. This one is out now on Revealed Recordings.
Jay Hardaway- Electric Elephants
A big complaint nowadays is that a lot of music is sounding the same, that there’s a lack of originality. Jay Hardaway puts that notion to rest with his newest track ‘Electric Elephants’. Signed to Spinnin Records, Jay Hardaway’s arsenal of great tracks continues to grow at a breakneck pace. Definitely an artist to watch if you haven’t been already, plus he’s in my Instagram profile picture so you know he’s legit. ‘Electric Elephants’ is out now on Spinnin Records.
Riggi & Piros- Knightlife
Speaking of young producers, Riggi & Piros (from Jersey how cool is that) are some of the hottest in the game right now. I don’t even think they’re old enough to have a beer but this duo has already been recognized by some of the biggest in the industry. They are pretty much the prodigy of Tiesto so you know they’re fucking legit. Knightlife is a powerful progressive work, available now on Musical Freedom.
Afrojack- Unstoppable (Original Mix)
This one has really grown on me recently. Afrojack knows how to bring the craziness as good as anyone and ‘Unstoppable’ surely does not disappoint in that department. The first drop is a darker, clubbier sound then builds up to something that would set a festival completely off. ‘Unstoppable’ is available now on Wall Recordings.
What’s up you ghoulish gratzians, threw together a little mix to commemorate this weekends festivities. Pretty scary shit right here so if you’re a wuss don’t even bother. Have fun with this one and be safe. Remember, pixie sticks are a hell of a drug.
Big Guestlist this week, new music from Calvin Harris, Tiesto, Afrojack and more. Take a listen and as always, Gratzfeed is in no way responsible for any property damage or physical violence that ensues.
I don’t know how to even start this one, really at a loss right now. Try to follow this run on sentence for me: Ok so Shaq, yes Shaq, one of the biggest and most dominant NBA players of all time (and the lead in Shazam) is djing, yes djing, like playing music, at TomorrowWorld, yes TomorrowWorld, one of the biggest music festivals in the United States. Got that? After retiring Shaq has pursued a career in becoming a tv analyst which he still does as well as a career in law enforcement and now he’s apparently a dj, one good enough to play TomorrowWorld. The 43 year old will be performing under the moniker DJ Diesel.
TomorrowWorld’s lineup was already stacked enough for me. It’s got the usual heavy hitters like Afrojack, Showtek, Tiesto, as well as some lesser known guys who slay like Thomas Newson, Lucky Date, and Dallas K…BUT SHAQUILLE O’NEAL JUST TAKES THIS FESTIVAL FURTHER INTO THE STRATOSPHERE THAN THE BRAINCELLS OF THOSE ATTENDING. I’ve never drank or did drugs before (mom reads the blog now) but I can only imagine that being fucked up while the big fella is shaqtin’ a fucking fool dropping bombs would have to be the pinnacle of life. People would be tripping so hard for that set that they’d think Shaq was actually next to them (it’s just my friend Nana guys don’t worry). I can’t even imagine what he’d be playing, I’m thinking like ‘Jump Around’ and 90’s throwbacks mixed in with some hardstyle and filthy trap.
Having said that, if you are on drugs and paranoid, this whole thing can be a stunt for him to bust people and make a name for himself as a cop. Imagine getting pulled out of the crowd and getting your whole life ruined by Shaq? No thank you, I’ll be on my couch watching football, eating wings and drinking soda that weekend, but don’t worry I’m sure he’s just there to drop bangers for you, seriously no worries.
PS. After an “eventful” date night I once sought shelter on Nana’s futon. The next morning he gave me an appropriately huge SHAQ STARTER shirt that instead of saying back to back to back champion says SHAQ TO SHAQ TO SHAQ AND IT’S MINE FOREVER AND I’M NEVER GIVING IT BACK.
Another fierce Guestlist for yall, decided to put it out a night early because fuck it. New music by Blasterjaxx, Tiesto, W&W and more. Enjoy, this one is nuts!
Gratz’s Guestlist comes a day early this week, just in time for a stacked weekend. This one has a lot of new tracks including a bunch of the new Revealed pack an even some new Jay-Z inspired Tiesto….
Scott Storch has to be one of my favorite people in the music industry. He’s a jew who used to live in Cherry Hill who balls the fuck out and makes amazing beats. Seriously, the dude is really talented and he produced tracks that were essential to our teenage years like ‘Candy Shop’ and ‘Lean Back’. Now, he’s getting into the electronic scene and linked up with German based (Jews and Germans linking up, we’ve come so far) Tai to bring us ‘Brick Wall’. Storch’s talents clearly crossover between genres as this one is a well produced, legitimate banger. The second drop is fucking silly and this was even released on Sander Van Doorn’s own Doorn Records. ‘Brick Wall’ is available now.
With Ultra in the books and EDC and Summer on the way, we are in full swing when it comes to essential releases for the Summer. Today we have three legitimate monsters that are all pretty different from each other yet all have something in common: they’re fucking awesome tracks (they also all came out today). Lets begin shall we?
Jewelz and Sparks- Parade 98 (Original Mix)
I’ve been loving this one for a while, ever since I first heard Hardwell play it on ‘Hardwell On Air’ in late February. This track is just sexy. The vocal sample is catchy and just makes you want to groove, then the track takes a turn when the drop hits, with a dark, electro vibe to it. This track is awesome because it does a great job of capturing both a cool, clubby vibe as well as a hard hitting festival vibe with the drop.
Bassjackers & Afrojack- What We Live For (Original Mix)
This one’s fucking wild. When you combine Bassjackers and Afrojack, you’re just asking for trouble. This one has a classic Afrojack sound to it and is without a doubt his best collaboration since ‘Turn Up The Speakers’ with Martin Garrix.
Don Diablo featuring Maluca- My Window (Original Mix)
Haven’t stopped listening to this track for the past 24 hours. This one is groovy too, but in a more upbeat way. It honestly just makes me happy and unable to stop dancing. Really funky track, I was lucky enough to see Don Diablo at Spinnin Sessions Miami last month and he brings a lot of energy with his unique style of dance music. He’s been on a production tear recently, and he could definitely be poised for an Oliver Heldens type breakout very soon…
May was already starting to start to look really promising. We got Mayweather/ Pacquiao, Djais frolicking with the guidos, EDC with the girls with daddy issues, and now it’s about to reach a whole new level of ignorance. As you may have heard, Revel Casino has been purchased by Florida investor Glenn Straub and it’s been finally finalized, donezo kudoro.
Allow me to provide a brief history lesson. HQ was the club inside the Revel Casino. HQ was the best club in AC by a landslide. It’s where the miscreants jumped around in general admission without a care in the world and where the rich romped around flaunting their wealth without any real regard for anyone or anything in VIP. It’s where the top DJs spun in AC, Tiesto, Afrojack and even Paul Oakenfold all took the decks there. It was 21 to enter but once you entered you could act like a fucking 12 year old.
Well, word on the street is that despite no date set for the actual casino to open, HQ (which isn’t owned by Revel, it’s owned by the same company that runs Hakkasan in Vegas) the club is set to open on May 15. Fuck. Yes. First we get news that Taco Bell could deliver then HQ opening back up in May!? What’s next, Chick Fil A is open on Sundays? HQ also has a day counterpart called HQ Beach Club which is an outdoor day party spot, if that’s going to be open for this summer then we’re in fucking business (literally). So yeah, right now it’s looking like May 15th as a start date for HQ, we’ll keep you posted as always with any new developments. In the meantime, it’s time to lose some weight, morals, and standards for what’s shaping up to be a raucous Summer ’15.
